It is a little over 3 weeks since the great garden project work was done and new plants are settling in - despite tempest and flood! We have had gale upon gale upon gale, and so much water that our back path has been more of a moat for much of the time ( Read more... )

The lady who did the planting really did have a good eye for what would work - and it is lovely to see each new thing settling in and beginning to bud.

I am so pleased with the way the plants in the new beds are working alongside the original ones - I sit in my 'knitting place' and just enjoy looking out at the flowers and the birds that visit.

It all looks very pretty. I need to get out in our garden but it’s been so wet that there have been limited opportunities recently!

It's working really well. There is still enough grass, but the new planting brings the colours closer to the house. And even better the new plants are well chosen to cope with the rain and the wind!

Now, of course, my job is to keep it tidy! But I think it will be doable. And the little rhododendrons are so pretty - and there are other things which will come into flower in rotation.
