Transmitting; the final chapter.

This is the last chapter of Transmitting. Thanks to wiseheartfor organising thepicowrimo session for July which spurred me on!

There are still stories to tell, so this is not the end of the Returnverse - but it is the right place to end this one. Thanks as always to speakr2customrs for the beta, and being there if I need to talk things through.

You put my girl on a horse! *laughing* Now I shall go away and write the scene where she shows up with just her pack and the Twins give her the Look of "You are being silly and now we have to do something about it, namely tease you until you throw things at our heads". "Why would you not have a horse? Were you going to walk all the way to the Havens?" And obviously everyone is betting on everything . . . .

Thranduil, you arrogant so-and-so. Of course it's going to be a parade when your lot leave.

*sniff* Gimli, oh, you're home and in comfort and that's perfect.

She really did have to ride, like everyone else - you really must write it :) And then there will be her reunion with Eleniel - and the new library...

Now that he has decided to make the journey, I cannot imagine Thranduil sneaking away, really!

And I felt Gimli deserved to see out his last days in comfort, even if, when I began to plot the story, I did wonder about him dying out there in the mountains.

NOOOOOOOOOO you couldn't have Gimli dying in the mountains!! Tharhîwon would have been so upset, and Nithdur not there to comfort him!

Thranduil never "sneaked" anywhere in his life. Are there trumpeters, still, in Eryn Lasgalen? They'd better get to polishing.

And her reunion with the ellon who memorialised "the Goat Incident" in basalt! (Remember the teeny goat carving? Seri's would-have-been-beloved-if-he-hadn't-gone-and-died-like-a-DOOFUS made her one, and she's always carried it with her.) Eleniel's plan for reunion is "Feed her, make her sleep for a week, get her really drunk with everyone, and then she can come see the library".

Tharhîwon would not have been without comfort - and Gimli might have thought it a price worth paying for the chance to see so many new mountains. But at home, in comfort, seemed right.

I am sure Thranduil will be able to rustle up a trumpeter or two... There are definitely drummers :)

And Sérëdhiel’s would-have-been-beloved really has got to either be there to greet her, or be released into the wild once she gets there and has followed Eleniel's recovery plan - I mean...he made her a carved goat!
