Actually, to be correct, it is sunset from the Mountain Station. Last night S2C and I went for the evening to an 'Indian Hill Station themed evening' at the cafe on the top of our only mountain; Snaefell.
The tickets were a wedding anniversary gift from my sister and her husband. We went up on the Mountain Railway (known locally as the Snaefell tram), had a very leisurely meal cooked by an Indian lady, served by staff many of whom were in beautiful saris, were entertained by a young lady doing 'Bollywood style dancing', and made our way back down the mountain, on the tram, in the dark.
I left the building a couple of times during the evening to take pictures of the sunset.
That was at 20.35. You can just make out a smudge along the horizon that is the Mountains of Mourne in Ireland.
These are the two trams that brought us all up to the mountain summit -
We came up in 5 and went down in 1. 1 is, of course, the oldest tram on the line she is 120 years old! 5 is slightly more modern - maybe 10 years or so younger, and has more comfortable seats!
This photo was taken about 10 minutes later -
And finally I took this one about 21.35. The colours really were like this, too.
