There is a definite shade of the worst kind of 'Girl falls into Middle Earth' about it... I guess we should thank The Hobbit for her not joining nine walkers on a mysterious quest!
"Geoff served all the audience with his homemade soup and bread to make sure they were nice and warm - followed by some nice lemon drizzle cake made by the bass player."
Ooh, I think you should definitely buy it in the name of research. (I would probably get annoyed at how much better many of my friends could have written it...)
And that definitely sounds like my sort of gig. I hope it was well supported (it often does seem to be the case that these small-scale village events are - if nothing else, if there's only the one hall in the village then presumably that evening that's all the entertainment available!)
I am sort of tempted. And... there is a follow up where someone (probably someone different I didn't really think about it) falls down a rabbit hole or something 'between two bushes' and ends up with a pair of elven twins. Now that's an original idea!!
(I have so got to get the twins to Valinor eventually. I have plans for them...)
D-d said the hall was about 2/3 full, which was good. I think some people had probably never heard of him but went simply because he was coming out to the village halls, but had a good time anyway.
