Skye, mainly.

Thank you all for your condolences and hugs on my last post. It is still difficult to believe there will never been any more phone calls going "It's Dorothy!" and often continuing "Do you still have the recipe for..." or "Have you thought about ( Read more... )

Thank you. It was such a shock - 'D from Skye' also known as dougalsservant was in poor health, but I really didn't expect her death to come so soon after our visit to Skye to spend time with her. We had known each other for a very long time.

Thank you - I really enjoy wandering around a good garden - unlike my daughter :)

The French really value the meat from sheep which have grazed on salt-marsh land. "Mouton du pré salé" goes for a premium price. I wonder if they export their meat?

And more hugs for your loss.

I know you don't seem able to get local meat easily there. Although, of course, there is no abattoir, so it is all going quite a distance. But whether it is then sold specifically and exported I don't know.

It is odd - we sometimes didn't have any contact for weeks on end so not having a conversation or any e-mails is quite normal - but it is difficult to think that she isn't there.

Thank you. Skye is a place that is good for the soul, I think. As I have just commented to Gill, D & I often had no contact for weeks, but it is still odd to think she isn't there.
