Drabble Set; First Spring.

I'm not sure if anyone but me remembers the drabbles I wrote about young Osred, aged about 12 or 13, trying to be the man of the family after his father and grandfather were killed in the Ring War?

Lovely sense of progression -- the hard work, the winter, but eventually the spring. I love this sense of Grandmother hovering in the background, directing everything but not quite coming into focus herself until that very last drabble: she might give credit to her son, but the new generation should probably credit her.

Thank you. I'm really glad that you like the way Grandmother is always there, the backbone really, providing the structure fr the whole family.

I keep thinking that one day I might write a longer piece about them - but actually this format does seem to suit them.

I think these glimpses into their lives are very suited to the drabble series format, as you say: life ongoing, so much persistent effort rather than a single great deed...
