Upsides- Best party ever!
Ok ok so on Saturday I went over to Ben's house because he kept saying he had some crazy surprise he'd been working really hard on for my birthday, but when I got there he wasn't done and it was all over the floor so he put his hands over my eyes, led me to his room, and I played Spore (which is pretty rad) while he worked.
We went to dinner and he asked me if I could drive him to his friend Dev's house to drop off a router Mike had in storage. The router was in a cake box, but it was clearly labeled ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT 7/6/06 so what did I know?
I figured the two of us would go somewhere cute and eat cake, but as it turns out "Dev" lives really close to Anna and Allison. So we decided to have a party! It's a good thing Dev's router was shaped like cupcakes.
I've never had a surprise party before and I really wasn't expecting it. Anna and Allison had a plethora of surprises, including a puppet and play-doh and the weirdest fucking book on parrots I have ever seen and a DOMO KUN PIÑATA. And there were streamers everywhere and everything!
That's right suckers, on my birthday Rob, Allison, and I (in order of diminishing impact) beat an meme to death and extracted candy from its head!
We were all singing karaoke when the new roomate Sarah came out too and it turns out she's pretty cool, so we all played guitar hero until 2am while Anna looked at zentais on flickr and tried to find the kittens page but mostly just found a lot of pictures of boys in plastic dresses and ball gags.
At some point slapstick ensued. You can't see Anna's face in this picture but let me assure you it was covered in frosting.
Thank you SO much Anna. Much like that cupcake, I did not see it coming, and much like the giant sack of candy on the floor right now, it made me life better.
