Research becomes very bad. From bones_to_flesh

I looked at the book that Giles had handed me as Xander sat across from me, shaking his leg, restless, not believing that we had to do this. I gave him my cross-eyed look. He knew better then to fight with this look. If Giles thought that there was a reason to be here, then we would be here, even if it was on a Saturday night.

Last week, we had buried the Master's bones. We wore robes and poured holy water on them. Buffy and Cordelia weren't there, because they were both on vacation, although Cordelia got back a couple of days ago, from what Xander had said, and Buffy was supposed to be coming back from her father's either today or tomorrow. I was happy about that, because the summer had been boring, and call me crazy, but with a lack of demon activity and without my best friend, it hadn't been very fun.

Now, Giles called us here because in his research, even after we had buried and consecrated the bones, he had found that maybe, we would have to dig them up again and destroy them. I think that Xander was just all huffy because he would have to do all of the digging along with Giles and Xander and hard work were like things that didn't mix. Xander's idea of working was walking to the donut hut and his secondary work would be eating the donuts. He had been so bored since Buffy left that he had complained about it and I would have thought that the diggin up of the bones that we just buried a week ago would be fun. I just wished that he wouldn't miss Buffy so much. I mean, she did tell him that she didn't want to go out with him on the day of the prom. I mean, what was I, chopped liver?

Giles came back down from the stacks and oh yeah, had to focus on research here, and with a book folded open in both of his hands, he showed me first, and then Xander, that there was a revivication spell for the master's bones and it involved the people closest to the master when he had died. Giles didn't know what that meant, but darn-tootin', it was time to go. I stood up, but as I did, I looked at Xander and Giles who both looked concerned, and before either of them could even utter something at me, I felt something behind me, and all of the hairs on my neck stood up.

"GIIILESSS!"

I couldn't see much as I struggled to get free, but I did see Giles grabbed as well, and Xander, Xander was thrown through the window at Giles' office, and I tried to scream again, but then felt and saw nothing as something was put over my mouth and nose.
