Macbook is sick with what Apple.ca tells me is "strain relief", which makes sense because he's been a fucking champion this month. With any luck, I'll have a replacement power cord by tomorrow, which means I can get back to the giddy business of working on Vaysh's fic, but until then, Yuletide reveals! \o/
As it turns out, the Yuletide matchery was so incredibly kind to me this year, like yet again I cannot believe how lucky I got because my gift was amazing and apparently, the matchery found me a writer based on our mutual love of John Cho. Which, I mean, there can never be enough Cho!fic, really, and the brilliant Flashforward fic
perdiccas wrote for me,
Universal Reboot, is just so. effing. good. I totally expected to dissolve into capslock glee for Dem and Zoey and Janis, which I absolutely did, but I'm smitten by
perdiccas's Simon, too, and I am completely in sparkly hearts love with baby Al. If you're a Flashforward fan and you haven't read it yet, go. ♥
Way before I got to flail over how lucky I got with my gift, though, I got to flail about how lucky I got with my assignment, which was basically for the fic I didn't even know I needed to write to cap off this year.
athenejen asked for Kitchen Confidential fic, particularly about Teddy Wong, and after some serious swooning canon review, I was off on what I thought would be about 1,500 words of AU episode tag for Praise Be Praise, which imo desperately needed Teddy Wong. Only, every single time I stalked checked
athenejen's Dear Yuletide Writer letter, the fic grew another 1k or so as I figured out something else about the guys. So it was a bit of a nail-biter to get it in on time and the fic would absolutely not have been possible without
cjmarlowe and Bean, but I'm really happy with how it turned out and, more importantly, so was
athenejen.

Sane is relative in every kitchen he's ever worked but never more so than now.
I could not have asked for a better gift, a better assignment, or a better end to the year.
