Apparently, I've got some splainin to do...well Ricki, here you go. [random sidenote before I begin...I have the same birthday as Lucille Balle...crazy stuff. Anyway, for those who don't know what the hell this whole first part has been about, lemme know and I'll explain]
So starting with the entry stating "she's staying"...see, Erica was set to go out of town this weekend which means she would miss both Freaky Friday AND the CiCi's show...which would suck, a lot. So it turned out she didn't go, so I'm very very happy, as you can see :)
okay, next:
"I can't fucking believe this is happening."
see, on May 13th, Geoff leaves for his studio job out in New Mexico [which we're really proud of him for, it's not like he left us or anything, we encouraged him to take it too, cuz that's fucking amazing] okay, well he's going to be gone for a considerable amount of time, and when he comes back, he won't be here for very long at all before he goes up to Berklee College of Music...IN BOSTON. So not manageable...sooo we knew we needed a new drummer. And we had it all set. Everything was good, the new drummer was a friend of one of the bandmembers and he was freakin nasty...now fastforward to wednesday night: 1) we had a shitty ass practice because it's been so long since we've played as a band. 2) we found out that our new drummer could no longer be our new drummer, for various reasons, making our task of getting a new drummer...an actual task. it was no longer a clear option, we would have to search. Well anyway, basically what happened was this: I get a message saying that OLAL is DONE after the show, I was told to cancel all future shows, and that this saturday would be the final time our band would be performing ever. That really pissed me off because there no was no real reason given except: we just want it to be done after saturday. so yeah, that's the explanation for that entry.
okay, now for the most recent one:
see, my reaction to us breaking up was so extreme because everything I heard was through messages, there was no actual dialogue between any of the bandmembers. So when I finally talked to one of the guys over the phone last night, here's what I found out: there was just talk about things being on hold for a while. Basically, the biggest obstacly right now: we need a new drummer. We are kind of incapacitated as a band until we get a solid replacement, and for those who know Geoff, he's a very difficult person to replace because he wasn't just a drummer, either. But anyway, I hope that sheds some light on what has been going on.
Recap:
-I was happy
-I was pissed off and crushed as hell
-I'm given new hope and things are sorta cleared up.
-Of Life & Lithium is not completely over, just on hold. [but isn't "on hold" the relationship term for "slow and eventual breakup"?]
hmm...anyway, Freaky Friday tonight!
