shake and nod, the use of

Here is posted the first of my fan fiction gripes, the most pressing being the use of nod and shake... or perhaps the total lack of the former. There is so much fan fiction out there that has a character "shake his head" in yes reply to a question.

What The HELL is WRONG with you people! To reply YES you nod... to reply NO you shake you’re head... it’s NOT rocket science!
