this made my day

(Ok this was a bulletin post on myspace, but I thought I'd expand on it becuase it brought back so many memories...so I'll just pick out the memories and elaborate and so forth...)

Attention all 90's kids....

Anybody under the age of 14 should not read this, and if you do, you should not repost this.

Just because you were born in '97 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90's just wont cut it.

(So unbelievably true)

You're a 90's kid if:

U remember watching Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Pinky and the Brain , and Two Stupid Dogs.

(I loved Doug. AND Rocko's Modern Life. Classic. Having Nickelodeon was joy in the 90's)

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!

(Not really me but I have used it once or twice)

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

(I think I still have a couple. The TV show freaked me out sometimes)

You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

(Um don't remember this one)

You can still remember the tune to Alex the Kid

(I don't remember Alex the Kid, but I do remember The Secret Life of Alex Mack, that girl who could turn to gloop and stuff. That was entertaining)

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

(Haha every now and again yeah...NOT...Ok that was uncalled for)

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record "Your FAVORITE song of ALL time"

(I never used to do that myself but I used to listen to my friends' tapes who did, especially on Brownie Camp)

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

(To be honest, and I know this my sound totally awful, but I don't think we ever got Captain Planet in England)

You remember when super nintendo's and Sega MegaDrive became popular.

(After School care in Primary School, couple of the boys brought in a Super Nintendo that we could use and it awesome. Donkey Kong and Kirby all the way. and Sonic rocked my world, I was jealous of everyone who had either)

You always wanted to send in a tape to Australia's Funniest Home Videos... but never taped anything funny.

(You've Been Framed was the English version of this. and no I was never tempted to send anything in)

You remember when Coca-cola Yo-Yos were cool.

(Haha thankfully no. But I do remember when owning a trick Yo-yo was cool, the ones where you could hold it down for ages to do tricks...ball baring type. I couldn't do many tricks at all...and that reminds me of playing with a diablo. Man they were fun.)

You remember those Where's Wally books.

(Where's Wally kicked ass)

You remember when Mortal Kombat wuz tha stuffff!

(Thankfully I wasn't into that but I do remember guys in my year loving it in Primary School)

U remember eating Warheads. (those sour candys)

(Didn't have Warheads in England)

U remember Ring Pops.

(Yes there were ring pops, but I loved Push Pops...they were tasty, especially the cola and strawberry ones, and they'd make your tongue go whatever colour. But they were incredibly sticky)

if you memeber when every thing was "da BOMB"

(Only on Fresh Prince of Belair...haha Carlton)

You remember staying up late to watch Hey Hey its Saturday

(Didn't have that in England)

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

(I thought Boom Boxes were more 80's)

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

(So true. Screech, Zach and ummmmm the Brunette girl played by Tiffany Amber-Thissan. Its a pitty Screech is still trying to shake off that child actor thing. Zach's in NYPD Blue now and Tiffany has been in various things, like Good Morning Miami)

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

(This is the one thing that No Australian seems to know. Pogs and Kinis was CRAZY at our school. I loved it, so much. Ahhhh youth!!)

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

(Totally true. I was talking to Heather about this the other day. I have one of each at some stage I think. They got banned at our school fairly quickly)

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

(We were actually the first of my friends to get a computer I think. MS Paint Veterean am I. Lemmings fuckin' rocked as did MS DOS and Windows 3.0. Fuck yeah. OH TETRIS OLD SCHOOL TETRIS!!!!!)

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

(Amen to that. I loved Rugrats. Power Rangers was a cult following between me and my friend Sebastian in year 2. and Ninja....what more do I need to say? Some great cartoons were created then. As were some crap ones, like Biker Mice from Mars...any help with any more?)

You had a favorite New Kid on the block, and you knew all of there names

(Again I thought these guys were more 80's)

You collected all the Troll dolls

(I loved Trolls. People used to give them too me. You know what else I collected? BEANIE BABIES! Yeah remember THAT craze? Yeah lol)

If you know what an original walkman is.

(Totally)

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

(Fuck yes. Show used to scare the bejesuses out of me...Could never watch it. Ever.)

You know the Macarena by heart.

(Perfected from an early age. School Disco and sleepover essential)

You remember "Agro's cartoon connection" and watched it like a religion.

(Agro was Australian)

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said.

(Talk to the elbow because you're not worth the extension)

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

(Didn't slip into my vocabulary that one)

East 17 made eveything "Alright"

(East 17 was Take That for people from the wrong side of the tracks. Lame were there. Take That were not. Robbie Williams was born)

When we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy...

Before the Internet & text messaging...

Before Sidekicks & iPods...

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX...

Before Sponge Bob
...Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When tazo's were cool.

(We got um Warner Brother's Cartoon Tazo's in walkers crisps. Awesome)

And everyone raided chip packets to collect "Odd Bodd" cards (and if you had the "hot" ones you were so cool)

(Not really in England. It was funny when they started giving out money in chip packets, and Spice Girls started appearing on the cover. Nothing beats Walkers. Or Hula Hoops. Or Monster Munch. Or Skips OMG SKIPS!!!!)

When light up sneakers were cool. (LA lights)

(I always wanted a pair. I think I did at some stage but I think they were lame when I got them)

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

(Hehe Blockbuster. Totally Awesome)

When petrol was $0.40 a litre & Caller ID was a new thing.

(Haha yeah didn't really have that in England. Cheap petrol I mean)

When we recorded stuff on VCRs.

(Still do if we're desperate)

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

(I loved requesting socks. I've been on the radio a couple of times. Good fun.)

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

(luckily i wasn't into rap)

Way back.

when it was all about N64

(I was never a N64 fan. Though I do remember playing the Bond game on an N64 once at a friends house)

WHEN MAKING OUT WASN'T HAVING SEX

(I was too nieve as a kid to know what either was, but I still consider making out making out...i think you mean hooking up there mister)

WHEN YOU TRADED BASKETBALL CARDS FOR A LIVING

(Basketball? No. Pokemon? OH yes! Still have mine somewhere)

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

Life was soo much easier....dont you agree??

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

(Anyone else have anything else they'd like to add, feel free by commenting)
