bangbangbangkok

so i just woke up and i'm on lots of medications, but i'm gonna try to do this anyway.

iv'e been in thailand for nearly a month now, and it kind of feels more like i fell asleep when i got to bangkok and had a dream about being in thailand for almost a month. there was alot of stuff about playing with tigers, eating weird looking fruits, ridiculous shopping malls, really old kind of creepy temples, drinking out of buckets, and islands with really steep hills. and somehow i ended up with pictures of all these things. what the.. its kind of like a sci fi movie, right? no? whatever guys.

kaci and eliza helped me out with a place to stay this time, since elizas friend alex is studying in bangkok, and as it would turn out her friend lilly had a spare room, which i kindly unspared. i unspared it all month, being the good person i am.

things that are really thai: drinks in bags, motorbikes with up to ten passengers, and adorable little animal statues just for the cutes.

bangkok wildlife.

more wildlife. (this belly is the belly i have wanted to sleep on most in my whole lifetime of wanting to sleep on bellys)

wildlife etc.

i don't get it, but i like it. i like it now.

it was pretty strange to be hanging out with so many americans all of a sudden, they even took me to mcdonalds (?) but within a few days i felt like alot of them were friends from home who i happened to be in thailand with. it was a nice change to have that consistency of people and some travel buddies too. we floated around on some boats in a market and then got to feel "the full weight of a tigers head" in the tiger temple (there were ponies and stuff there too, they dont even seem to fight eachother, pretty sure they're buddhists).

soup in a boat. i really wish that meant a boat full of soup.

baby cats! (/lilly). oh wait, i have a better one: tiger lilly. oh god!

this is my thai friend warren:

hes really sassy, and he pretty much just always looks like this. he has serious love fore the spice girls and he thinks that "tim burtin" and "timbaland" are the same person.

he took me to his hometown one weekend, which was thailands ancient capitol, but then burma gone and burned it down. its called AYUTTHAYA, which looks cooler when its in all caps. theres gajillions of temples there, which warrens dad took the liberty of driving me around to in the middle of the night.

which was really cultural and full of scary stray dogs.

and it reminded me of some sort of thai disneyland. check out all the twinkles.

but better than disneyland, dare i say?

plus we got to take pictures of ourselves!

thai people always dress well, even if they're statues. freshly dry cleaned.

this reminds me of a storybook. it would probably be about fireflys.

warrens house looks like a museum, and his mom makes really really really good mango sticky rice. and she adopted me, though i'm not sure if its legal. and i'm not sure if my mom will mind, though shes never made me mango sticky rice. that'll tech her.

warrens older sister was awesome too, she painted my nails and made me hot coco all the time.

and the dogs all hated me, except for the mean one, who hugged me alot. like a little bear dog.

his family was all very impressed that i was able to eat spicy foods, use chopsticks, and was not fatally obese, and still somehow american. this is actually the kind of thing i get comments on typically since traveling as if i'm the only exception. people really think were big fatty fats. it rules.

and of course ive been keeping up with my usual routines..

bears

and buddahs.

oh!

and of course getting drunk and acting a fool, but you knew that.

and the buckets, oh my.

they still play alot of things such as "mambo #5" in clubs here.

i spent the past week here sick in bed with crazy fevers all over me. i triumphantly (feel free to put lots of emphasis on this) managed to get myself to the hospital where they checked me out, took my blood, let me take naps, gave me juice boxes, and wheeled me around in a wheelchair a bunch before giving me a whole gift bag full of medications and wheeling me back into a cab. i'm now back in a somewhat normal state (sort of), and feeling very lightheaded all the time. plus the muscle relaxants make me feel like i'm floating everywhere. hey! i go to japan tonight! i'm gonna float there!

thailands a pretty big magical place.

but the small things are still the best.

i leave for japan tonight, still! just like i just said! this is awesome!

oh, but fevers are really bullshit, because you cant do anything and then you'll end up leaving thailand without riding an elephant, which is pretty much the only thing you wanted to do, ever. good thing thats just a hypothetical situation and not my own feelings.

oh, and i'll tell you about islands and stuff later, i was sick through that too, but not so much, and there were alot of bananas and body paints involved.

i had this hallucination the other day that i was some some sort of mysterious vampire woman and i was in this awesome cave lair and i had wrath. a ton of it. there was alot of wind and red lightning. things like that.
