So this weekend I went to my friend's bachelorette party (2007 weddings, round 3) in New York. It was really nice to see her, as well as her college friend Kara with whom I've hung out a few times. Weddings are such strange events. I mean, they're loads of fun and happy times, but still so odd.
I also met
purlypuss for lunch. We went to
Rachel's in Hell's Kitchen, which was a frequent dining destination for me when I lived there. We had a great lunch, and
purlypuss was a delight. Based on her descriptions, I expected a sweet little ankle-biting wee person, but that was far from the case. Plus, her hair is looking gooood. Very cool. I love it when people live up to your expectations. :)
After lunch we went to the Conran Shop, where we were given a healthy dose of obnoxious, ass-brained NYC retail. Uhm, excuse me Qui Jou, but your only responsibility is to sell furniture, so, maybe you should be able to answer basic questions... Oh, and Svetlana? You aren't the queen of England, or Putin's Mafia girlfriend-you're a slaesperson. Okay? PS,
purlypuss, I've decided to buy
the Eames Lounge LCW after sitting in it this weekend.
I stayed over at Sandy's house, which was loads of fun. She was a consummate enabler ("Uh, yeah, you should buy it. But get the real thing, not a knock-off"), and, as usual, a wonderful hostess. We had two delightful meals, which only remind me how much I miss NYC...
