Since I have had my journal, I have had many people contact me. Many of them have become good friends, a few not so good friends, and others are just plain disturbing. I have been thinking about the various types and variations that come my way, and decided to highlight some of them (mostly the bad ones ( Read more... )

The combination of exhibitionist tendencies and intelligence really intimidates some people, I think. Really though, the ones which truely irritate me are the ones who can't form a coherant sentence to save their lives.

But yes, do tell about the old yahoo people. I so love them.

Andrew,

You are so right. I have felt like saying, in some fashion, that there is no need to be intimidated by me.....but it feels like any way of doing that would come off as pompous. I also get paranoid that people are talkin shit about me because of my high profile in certain picture-posting communities.

I also can't understand these people who post journal entries that make absolutely no sense because they have 1) poor grammar, 2) poor vocabulary, 3)little or no proper punctuation, 4) write "lol" for every 3 or 4 words, and 5) apparently do not read anything they write before hitting the "submit" button. I just want to scream "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING? YOU MAKE NO GODDAMN SENSE!" and slap them a few times.

Well, it would come off as pompous, but that's such a nasty little word. How about hauty? It rhymes with hot, after all. *smirk* As far as shite talkin jive monkeys, I haven't heard anything about you other than the common interest in having a picture taken with your landmark, or in some cases, a really quite silly desire to have it inside them in some fashion.

Underneath all of this is really an inability to think about attractive people in broader human terms rather than the incredibly attractive sex objects we are. Ultimately, this rather got to me, which is why I've stayed away from posting in certain communities -- they tend to bring certain people onto your friends list which are just fucking boring while they are attempting to flirt.

So I locate you while dicking around clicking on my interests to see what shows up; lo and behold, only one other person interested (ironically or not) in inhaling cold freezer air.

Subsequently, the amusing (and insightful) top journal entry coupled with the image of a group of neon-baseball-capped japanese tourists posing next to a penis, thumbs up, all smiles (this image thanks, of course, to the above comment about having a picture taken with your monument, which I gather from the rest of the remarks is... statuesque?) causing me to nearly shit myself** laughing prompted me to comment.

So, uh... bully for you. And check it out, a comment from someone who neither knows you or is interested in your junk.

**This is not literal. I just thought I'd clear that up since you know... you apparently encounter some pretty gross people. I have excellent control of all such functions and in memory such control has not been threatened by any outburst of humor.

Too much?

Why thank you!

And, given the size of the average Japanese tourist in these parts, I'm sure the penis in question would really be quite monumental, as you so aptly put it.

Oberlin, eh? They wanted me to go to their college long ago...

I think you are getting Andrew (tres_faux) and I confused.....I am the one with inhaling freezer air as an interest and he has the japanese penis tourist thingy. Or maybe I am wrong about what you're thinking...

Anyways, it seems that, along with the inhaling freezer air thing, we have an uncannily large amount of similar interests including Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, The Eels, Eddie Izzard, Bowie, etc.

Perhaps we are long-lost twins.

Nah, I had it figured out. It was *your* post and interest coupled with the image prompted by *his* comment that incited me to comment.

All very complicated, I know - but trust that I understand that you are two separate people, and indeed, understood as much at the time of posting.

And yah - I saw the rest of the shared interests as well, but the freezer bit was unique to the two of us. You know it can cure migraines?

Okay, then I was just confused.....

I didn't know it cured migraines; I just started doing it at the supermarket when i was about 8 out of boredom.....AND I NEVER LOOKED BACK!

It seems a third person has added it as an interest.....we're starting a trend!

See, now I'm wondering if this third individual is

a. Someone who happened upon our exchange here and decided it would be nice to be ahead of the curve on a trend

b. Someone who happened upon the exchange, went and stuck their head in a freezer and decided that we were really onto something

or

c. Someone who just happened to put their head in a freezer, began to weep quietly for all the joy that had been missing from their existence before putting said head in said freezer, and ran to their LJ interests in order to alert others that it is, indeed, how we should be living our life.

I'll probably think about it for at least several more minutes.

It's either A or B......if I had to guess it would have to be B. I hope it's B. I once told a friend about it and he was skeptical. Then he tried it and he was completely sold. Most people who try it will realize how wondrous it is! I have confidence in that.

I must concur. If it was A it would... cheapen it somehow. I have too much faith in the world to allow myself to believe that it is.

Meanwhile, I have far too little faith in the world to believe C is likely. Alas.

Andrew,

I noticed that making the type of picture posts I make has attracted a certain breed of LJ person that friends me (without notification) and essentially posts the same happy comment in every entry I make (as their form of flirting) because they are too stupid to come up with some semblance of intelligent conversation to cultivate an online friendship with me. They probably do this with anyone who publicly posts pictures which they are turned on by, thus the size of their "friends" list often far exceeds the size of their "friend of" list.

Your comment looks cutoff.

But yeah, I'm aware of this. I used to have several, (thanks to fucking cocktalk and others) but they've since been removed. Personally, if I want to look at pictures exclusively, I'll use a porn site, which is far more direct regardless.
