Ice Cream Cupcakes!
Hey guys I made these for my family for Valentines day! I just wanted to share ^-^
I totally ripped the idea off the side of a cake mix box.
SO I didn't have alot of time or money so Yes I used box mix and canned icing. shoot me.
I used the Rainbow Sprinkle cake mix and filled flat bottom ice cream cones about 2/3 full. I tried to be fancy and use cone shaped ones but they didnt stand up straight enough for the cake to rise evenly. boo.
I stood them in a cupcake pan because I am clumsy and probably would have knocked them over otherwise.

So that was the easy part.
Packed in paper towel to keep them still while icing
I really wanted to make it look like swirly ice cream.
I had been talking about getting a fancy cake decorating kit for a while and specifically said the kind with reusable bags.. my mom went out and bought me this weird cylinder thing.. I figured it was atleast the thought that counted and tucked it away never to be used until I realized it was EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED to achieve the swirlies.
So what I did was cut some (clean) cardboard and stuck it down the middle of the tube
I packed in white on one side and pink on the other and very carefully pulled out the cardboard.. so annoying but totally worth the effort!
After pulling out the barrier and managing to not completely screw it up.
The icing and the colouring I used to get it that colour.. I love this stuff! it's amazing!
End result with two different sized heart sprinkles. I was going to top each with a cherry but I like it this way better :D
Totally impractical since you pretty much have to eat the icing first and then the rest of it but I still think they are super cute and fun :) Hope you enjoyed!
