vanilla mini-cupcakes

Since my boyfriend, for some unknown reason, does not like regular-sized cupcakes, he asked for mini ones.




Cupcakes
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
a little less than 1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla [but more like 1 tsp. if you're like me and "accidentally" added more]
1/3 cup milk
pinch of salt

Vanilla Frosting
4 tbsp. (1/4 cup) unsalted butter at room temperature
2 cups confectioner's sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. [or more like 3/4 tsp.] vanilla
1 pinch salt
