IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

Mar 18, 2006 15:49

As many of you may know by now, I’ve taken a break from bud until 4/20. There are a variety of reasons for this (none of which I will get into). The important implication of this is that I will not be participating in the co-op (which, by the way, according to my records, has shaven approximately 7000 bucks off the illicit economy in the space of a little under 6 months). This doesn’t mean the co-op has to end. While, I’ve been incredibly disappointed by the complete lack of help (with a few notable exceptions), there’s still a tiny part of me that hopes people will be able to organize themselves and work together for a cheaper price. As such, I’m prepared (as I’ve been since the beginning) to turn over the one resource that makes this crazy thing work. Namely, information. If people can organize themselves into large enough groups for the purchase of an ounce or more, I will be more than happy to put them in touch with other groups of similar size so that they can buy in large enough bulk to create a price drop. In order to keep the price as low as last time, 5 ounces are needed. If there are groups that are close to an ounce, I can give out contact info of previously interested parties in order to make a full ounce. Of course, it goes without saying that I will be asking permission from people before giving out their contact info for shady dealings. It also goes without saying that I’ll be very reluctant to share my social capital with people who I suspect of price-gouging or other untrustworthy activities. My decision as to who I will trust and who I won’t will not be an arbitrary whim, but a method of protection for everyone involved. Once 5 ounces of purchasing capital is tentatively guaranteed, I will put the ounce group representatives in contact with our supplier and then everything will be fine and dandy.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact me in a discrete fashion. Of course, I’d be happiest if people could organize all of this and find a supplier without me.
