MY DAY SO FAR

Mar 11, 2008 13:52

+ I was a zombie this morning. BEYOND tired. But unexpectedly found some energy via a single cup of crappy, powdered coffee from the lunch room.

+ I sent out like 10 emails within 30 minutes. Some were rather long. I was quite proud of my typing skills, which are far from being technically superior but still good for being self-taught.

+ I had a MAJOR craving for deep fried pickles. Must call brother and stop at the restaurant!

+ I managed to be nice to a consistently annoying asshat customer. Go me!

+ I almost saved a hurt/crippled sparrow until I realized the bird was neither hurt nor crippled but actually 2 sparrows rolling/flapping around on the ground having crazy bird sex. They didn't seem to mind my presence either, looked at me like "WHAT?! Haven't you ever seen birds having sex before?!"

+ I reaffirmed my love of the 80s and 90s channels on XM Satellite Radio. Nothing like jammin' to Paula Abdul or the Backstreet Boys to get the day rollin' Yes I admit I was a fan.

+ I stopped at Walgreens on my lunch break for some necessary items...Pomegranate Green Tea, random Easter candy cause I like candy and a couple 2-packs of my fave 5 Hour Energy Shots. I could go crazy in that place!

+ At said Walgreens stop my nose sniffed out a familiar scent and my earholes heard familiar sounds which triggered memories of New York City. A combination of garbage, exhaust fumes, seagulls yelling or whatever you call what they do and a char-broiled scent escaping from the vents at the Kopp's across the street. Ahh, late night NYC when things are winding down and all the shops, bars and restaurants toss their garbage on the road for pickup. It's amazing really, streets are piled high with bags at 2am and by 8am it's all gone. All the cars and trucks, you can imagine the fumes but I still take a deep breath whenever I walk the streets. The street vendors and their delicious sandwiches, grilled chicken, kabobs, gyros, hot dogs...the smell can be mesmerizing. The seagulls/pigeons while a nuisance are still part of my NYC memory, especially when they sit up on buildings and shit on passerby’s. I swear they're up there discussing their next target! Aww...I miss that city.

Yes, I know I'm kooky and YES I'm that bored right now.
The end...until the beginning...
:-)

crazy day
