Played at Lower Woodland #7 which means an "all weather sand" field, those that know better call it dirt. Had a full team again, 2 subs of each gender, as well as some more new faces. Played against a team we struggled with last season, beat us once and we were lucky to get a tie.
Today was just a little different.
We were a little shaky in the first half, what with people arriving late. Made us a little disorganized but we started to settle in and by the second half were totally dominating them. I finally settled in myself, after two games this season (one as a sub) and played to the level I know I'm capable of. Got some good touches on the ball, some great clears, passes were right on target. Only two small errors that I could complain about. Missed an overhead ball. The usual but didn't let it get under my skin and that was the only one of about four that I missed. Tried to turn and clear a ball up the sideline. I'll have to work on that technique.
Started getting a little bored in the second half, actually. The few runs that they managed were shut down immediately. Now, if only our offense can get the ball in the net a little more often. A dozen shots or so and only a 1-0 win to show. Still, it was a win and the whole team played excellent football today.
