This past weekend I finally got to spend time with my little cousins, Mara and Lauren. I absolutely love them and could play with them all day. Once I got to their house, they ran outside to greet me and gave me a big hug. It was so sweet. We watched Peter Pan, painted, played Dora games and spent a long time at the park. Oh ya, Lauren kicked my butt in concentration! It was like 14 pairs to 6…
Anyways, there is always an inspiration to write a journal entry, and Mara and Lauren were it this time.
It’s still difficult to be around kids, as much as I enjoy my time with them because it just brings up sad memories. Although, what I learned from the girls is how to enjoy and live in the moment. There is no reason to dwell on the past because you can’t change it. They were so ecstatic to have me over for the day and were more than content to paint with me for hours. They weren’t thinking about anything except for the picture they wanted to create. They focused on the present…and it’s something that I learned from them. Be happy for what you have now and focus on all of the positives that surround you in the moment. You can’t let life pass you by…
I love those girls dearly, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them. It was a great weekend with my little girls.
