back is the new black.
i'm very happy to be back. very happy. the weekend was soooo nice, all napping and pottering and chopping parsley and stuff. watched some films saw some music. little wings was very pretty (more montreal mystique) but new buffalo was COLD. boo! the last time i saw her at the zoo the cold factor was okay, cus you know - big room, bright stage lights, elevated stage - it made sense. But the troubadour is a warm venue, they have red paper over the lights, there are couches and people cuddle on the floor. totally incongruous with her deMEANour. It was like kissing Brecht. The worst thing is that now i've got all her tunes stuck in my head and i LOVE them. Is it possible to love the art when you don't love the artist? well, as Debbie would say [her voice breaking with gutsy emotion] "you can sure as hell try!" So i'm wiping her face from my mind. *** Anyhoo, last night i played a game of chess with my wonderful friend polly, throughout which she proffered a comparative analysis as to the ivory's representation of historical and contemporary social order. Polly analyzes all. I love that shit. I drink it up. It tastes like Tang! after that i had band practice and I got to play the new bass which we won in the insurance lottery. its purty. Tonight i'm doing the graveyard shift at Zed with Lux. We're gonna have so much fun! then we're both gonna DIE of sleep-deprivation and caffine poisoning at work the next day. hazaar! oh yeah, the only bad thing about being back in town is that it is now gaspingly apparent that leah, my bestest and oldest friend, is really gone. GONe gone. she's in glasgow. she'll be there quite possibly forever. i MISS her. every time i see a white panelvan i kinda want to cry.
so here's some kittens.
