OMG those are awesome!!!! We have zillions of those around here! :3 Currently one sits on my truck dashboard. Maybe I should paint it too? :D

why not? ;) and despite living in NM i can never seem to find any, i always have to buy mine. this year i got 30 seeds for $4, the cheapest yet, and finally manage to get some sprouts. we'll see if they keep growing!

What are they? Where did you get them... they're so alien, they're awesome. I guess I should try and figure out what to do with sweet gum tree balls.

I bought these off ebay a long time ago to paint. This year I am attempting to grow them. They are devils claws seed pods.

We have something that resembles a sweet gum tree pod here, with fewer spines. Looks like a puffer fish in plant form.

They are difficult things to get started. Soak the seeds a week in water, then plant in little pots before transfering to outside.
