Character's Name: Haruno Sakura Age: 16 Sexual Preference: Heterosexual (mostly) Division: Ceno. Sakura would belong to Ceno as she is the type of person who is, to an extent, innocent. While she might not be the strongest, she will help people, even those who annoy her and make her hit them. Background (at least two paragraphs):
Compared to some, Sakura's life could be called extraordinary, or as she prefers to call it, normal. She was not an orphan, or did her family get massacred. Her parents were born and raised within Ceno, and managed to stay there. Rather, Sakura was born to two average people, and grew up in a normal loving environment. From an early age, Sakura was always well behaved, yet seemed to be quick to judge people. Her neighbor's children often avoided her, since she could snap at one moment and punch them, or be nice and shy. This of course was the beginnings of the split persona that Sakura had. Being a rather well read child, since Sakura liked to know quite a bit, and way always looking for ways to improve herself.
Her father was a doctor, and her mother a nurse, and Sakura never questioned while she was growing up just why she had two parents. It was not until later in life that Sakura learned that her situation was not the normal one. After all, not everyone was as lucky as she was and had parents to look after them. Still, Sakura would not have known what she would have done if she had not had her parents. They have always been supportive of her, and have pushed her forward, for like all parents, they want something better for their daughter.
Although at first Sakura was hesitant to excell in her classes, she soon came to understand that she should live according to herself. Being well read, Sakura seemed to have the answers to everything, and although she did not intentially do it, it gave her the reputation of somewhat of a teacher's pet. In the beginning, that made her uncomfortable, but she soon learned that this was her life. With growing knowledge though, Sakura could not help but see the strange things that were starting to happen, and although she has tried to turn a blind eye to them, it is growing harder and harder to do so.
Personality (at least one paragraph):
Sakura's personality has manifested itself in different ways as well, bringing forth new traits, while at the same time cementing old ones. Sakura had started to become more vocal about who she was at a young age, though she was never rude, per say. This confidence though did not reach beyond a very shallow meaning of the world, for although she thought of herself as all high and mighty, the truth was actually quite different. Sakura really had matured since her younger years, growing into herself, and accepting her strengths and weaknesses into herself, instead of just ignoring them. She is comfortable with who she is, and is not afraid to express herself. Sakura does not simply let her inner self out as casually as she used to, but rather she had learned to hold it in check. It still arises from time to time, especially when Sakura is extremely annoyed.
As a child, Sakura was a very timid person and was bullied and made fun of because of her looks. This was particularly because of her big forehead, for children like to pick on people that are different than them, and Sakura happened to be the one. Also, Sakura could have been described as a bit whiny and hostile, especially towards people who she did not understand. Sakura never actually took the time in the beginning to see people for what they was worth. Instead she judged them and kept to that belief. Anyone who crossed Sakura would meet Inner Sakura, and either be punched or hit, or harmed in some fashion. Now though, Sakura has settled down and grown more comfortable. She has matured and moved past petty squabbles. She no longer just judged people by what lies on the outside, but rather takes a step back and gets to know the real them.
Now, instead of just lashing out at people or becoming emotional, Sakura acts more calmly. Once a very emotional girl, Sakura has calmed down and come to understand who she is. In many ways, she has mellowed out, but will still kick ass if she can. She did not want to be the third wheel anymore, but wanted to be an active participant in her life. Sakura tries to no longer judges people only by their looks, but rather gets to know them first. Although she has become more relaxed, she still at times has a violent temper. Generally, Sakura is loyal, almost to a fault, strong willed and intelligent. Sakura though still suffers from her earlier history, and does at times fall into self doubt. When people are hurt, especially those she is close to, she does tend to fall back upon old tendencies. At times, she thinks that it is almost fruitless, all this work she has done, for no matter how hard she trains, she is never good enough.
Overall, Sakura is trying to find a way to fit in, without sticking out like a sore thumb. Her thoughts are usually her own, as she does not want to step outside the bounds of what is normal and acceptable.
Writing Sample:
We listen to the songs of the stars and the earth without even knowing. Our hearts dance to a beat we can't quite hear, but are ever in sync with it. Our blood echoes with the melody, but because we cannot hear it, often we forget... Until something reminds us, something peaks our heart and speeds adrenaline through our veins and we remember to feel the sensation of each beat of life, each powerful pump of our soul feeding oxygen to our bodies. Sometimes, if we can get close enough, we are blessed enough to hear the rhyme of another life's song. Then, nature reminds us of how precious our lives, and our dear ones, are.
The sun had already begun to lighten the sky, but that did not mean that Sakura was still sleeping. No, she had been roused from her sleep hours ago, yet had clung to the precious comfort of her bed, until now. Knowing that it was useless to try and regain what she just had, she pushed back the covers and stretched. Another day. By golly, if you thought she was happy to see it come, you were only half correct. Still yawning, she moved, feet flipping into slippers and gathered her personal belongings. Nothing said good morning like a warm shower. It was her routine, something that she followed everyday to a fault, if she could. As she showered, brushed her teeth, dried her hair, and got ready, her mind drifted only to one thing, coffee.
It was bad, her slight addiction to the stuff, but it gave her that kick that she needed to get through the day. After all, she did need something to keep her going. She figured a bagel would be good that morning, slathered in butter, and a bit of plain cream cheese to give it that little kick. It had already made her stomach start to growl, just there mere thought of it. Licking her lips, Sakura tumbled down the stairs, knowing that her parents would still be there. Her father would be reading the paper, and her mother would be chatting up a storm, talking about news or fashion, medical stuff, or just the latest gossip. It really was surprising that Sakura had not turned out more like her.
