Kscope Report: Thursday

Aug 22, 2006 17:50

Thursday morning was considerably drier and less humid than Wednesday had been. I had a path off of my island. After breakfast and emptying the 6 or 7 litres of water out of each of the coolers, I ran around and strung rope between trees to hang my sodden clothes from. After that, I went to the Grounding, Centering and Shielding for Beginners workshop. I found some of it useful, and roughly matching up with my own practices/experiences. Some of it, though, pushed my "fluffy vs. logic" limit - I was unsold on the kenning stuff. There was a Chaos Magic workshop in the afternoon that I'd wanted to go to, but Thursday afternoon was also when I first met the beach/pond, and that was pretty much the rest of the day for me. I also learned that strawberries, dark rum and water make a reasonably tasty drink, in a pinch.

In the evening, I met the firepit, and the drumming and dancing that surround it. I danced and danced, and found my happy psychotic dancing place. I was making an effort to stay hydrated, but next to the fire I washed out my electrolytes anyway. The sarong I wore that night has a lot of holes in it, which could be from a) moths, b) sparks from the fire, or c) holes dissolved in it by the acid and salt in my sweat. It was worth it.
