apurgatoriumWarning: Character death. Technically. This will probably wind up with a prequel. Uh, Ed and Wrath with a sort of ... sibling like bond. Which might freak people out. Ed's the new Sloth... or something.
The terminal came on to the sound of a sigh. He much rather preferred not using the voice posts, but sometimes they were just more useful. "So, uhh... Dying isn't exactly something I'm interested in repeating." The blond's voice started. "Considering I'm human, so... mortal I can't really pull off avoiding it, forever. While I'm here, though... I think I'm going to work on not... doing that ever again. I'll be into work tomorrow, assuming nothing happens between now and then. As for now, I'm just glad to be back. If anyone needs me, I'll be fixing my house... Again."
Shutting the terminal off, Edward stepped into the living room and sighed again. He couldn't blame Wrath, he understood as much as was humanly possible, how possessive the boy got and he was only a child. Forever a child, and Ed knew he hated being left alone... Abandoned.
Wrath, who had heard the blond's entry from another terminal returned home, stepping int to the house slowly. He didn't speak at first, afraid that the older boy was mad at him for destroying the house... again. Edward glanced up at the sound of someone coming into the room and smiled weakly in greeting.
"Are you all right?"
"I'm fine, Wrath. This is becoming quite a habit, isn't it?" He answered, softly.
"You're.. not mad at me?" the homunculus murmured, guarded. Hesitant to step forward, even as Edward opened his arms as Sloth had done many times in the past.
"For this?" Edward nearly laughed, dropping both arms to his sides as he realized that Wrath wasn't coming any closer. "It's just a house, Wrath. I've never been any good at keeping them intact. Besides, it's nothing I can't fix, all right? Are you okay?"
Instead of getting a verbal answer, once the blond stopped speaking he wound up with an armful of homunculus. Mismatched arms wrapped around his waist and Edward settled his own around the smaller body.
"Don't die again." Wrath commanded, and Ed only smiled sadly. Ever since he came back, the thing that had been troubling him the most was what he'd forgotten. He couldn't tell that anything significant was missing - so he wasn't even aware of what the lost memory was about.
"I don't plan to..." The blond whispered, just glad that Wrath wasn't threatening to kill whoever had brought him harm, again. Little did he know what was waiting for him over the network.
