I don't agree with what's written in the link you posted AT ALL, however I do believe my crohns has a psychological root. My personal belief (not being a doctor but having lived with this for 10 years) is that Crohns is a genetic weakness which can be triggered at some point in your life by outside causes. For me that was totally emotional. I had a very abusive childhood, and I firmly believe my crohns was triggered by walking on eggshells and bottling up feelings for so long. Your body can only cope with so much, and mine snapped. I feel like there are many triggers that could cause crohns to rear it's ugly head in people who have that weakness to it, but perhaps I could have gone longer than the grand old age of 20 before developing it had I not been under so much stress and anxiety at that time in my life.

Interestingly, my crohns is always SO much worse when I'm stressed or fighting with someone or bottling up my feelings. Having a big argument with someone can and has thrown me into a full blown flare up. My worst flare was when I separated from my exhusband. I nearly ended up hospitalised, and lost 28lbs. Coincidence? I don't personally think so.

Having said that, I very much see your point. It's a physical illness. The mind is powerful, but it isn't powerful enough to think its way towards causing obstructions, perforations and the like. That's just insane! :P
