I'm about to fall asleep so forgive me if this comment is unintelligible ;; But from what I've seen, you've been playing him as too naive and unintelligent and too overpowered by his phobia.

Guy is a much more clever and secretive character than you're showing -- yeah, he puts on a nice boy-next-door show, but not to this extent. He plays off of Jade's sarcastic remarks rather than letting them fly over his head. And he would absolutely know what "jargon" meant -- he's smart and experienced with the world, remember that contrast with Luke. He just seems... kind of airheaded right now, which isn't right for him, and it makes it really difficult to reply to him in character when he isn't understanding things that he would understand.

And I think you're playing too much into the fandom interpretation of him with your overemphasis of and possible misunderstanding of his phobia. It's one of his most memorable characteristics, yes, but he's not that overpowered by it. Saying there's no way he can live with a female doesn't make any sense -- he spent months sleeping in the same hotel room as or near on the ground to Natalia and Tear and Anise, and he's good friends with them. And he likes women and at least claims to be attracted to them -- he's an effortless Casanova in the game; the only problem comes with touching women, which is usually pretty simple to avoid.

S-so yeah. You have potential, and I can tell you love him and the game a lot, so that's awesome o/ There's just room for improvement.

I can see what you're saying. This is one of the reasons why I'm on hiatus. I'm trying to re work his character because I feel like I've over done some things myself. And sorry about the "Jargon" thing, it's just that to begin with I was debating whether they really did have that word in world. Also I know about the phobia. I shouldn't make it so dramatic, I'll try and work on that too.

I understand everything your saying, and I will honestly try and work on it. I hate playing people badly and I can tell I'm starting to lack things with Guy. Also since Luke and Asch are joining this game soon, hopefully, then maybe then I can work a little better.

I've never been in a game without Luke or Asch so this was a little different and it made it hard for me to think about things.

I agree with Dist-mun about the phobia and a little bit about his naivety. However, a word like "jargon" could possibly be considered slang, and therefore might not exist in the world of Abyss. I really think it's a 50/50 thing and it should be left up to the -mun playing the character. (Although personally, I do believe it is a word Guy would know.) The safest route would probably be to assume Guy has a fairly large vocabulary database and would know slang - especially those of commoners.

I really appreciate your attitude about it. It shows maturity when you take a critique like the way you did. You understand it and want to make yourself a better Guy-mun. So, I really applaud you here.

And you're probably right about lacking a Luke and Asch here. It can be difficult at times to not have main-canon at your side. When you don't get to interact with them much, it's harder to maintain characterization.

Finally, I really look forward to you coming off your hiatus. I want to interact with you more! o/ I'm sure you'll be just fine in a week or two.

In the mean time, you should re-watch Tales of the Abyss anime. (I'm watching it for the first time, along-side playing the game.) This is me trying to tell you we should do it together.

Also, I just wanted to say kudos to Dist-mun. The way you worded your critique was polite and honest. Furthermore, it was constructive criticism; something that Guy-mun could work with. The maturity level here makes me feel all giddy. |D
