I just have this thought,
I'm a girl, awkward around boys, never dated before, I don't think I ever liked a guy before.
than there's this guy, older than me, and being so nice to me. he's considerate, he makes me laugh, he adjusts to my personality, he tries to understand me.
I'm so thankful to him.
Do I...knit a scarf for him? Because I'm feeling grateful toward him?
I don't think so...
I might just treat him to lunch or a movie, not something which I invest my time and effort to make. Well, maybe baking a cake, but not knitting a scarf.
Unless, I like him.
And, I know he likes me back.
'cause I don't want him to think weird of me for suddenly giving a knitted scarf, or feel burdensome 'cause truthfully, a knitted scarf is a burdensome gift for a boy. Then our relationship will be awkward.
and a guy won't knit a scarf, or even a couple scarfs, because he lost it. Unless, it's precious for him, or... the maker is.
