Updates
Isn't this just the most unbearable weather ever? I swear, when I got home, my face was red all over from the heat. And to think that I even took a taxi home. At least I'm here now with the air conditioning on full blast. Nobody's home save for Ate Josie. My sister is taking badminton lessons while my mom is probably buying ingredients for tonight's birthday feast. It's Tonton's birthday today, you see. :)
Now I know I haven't updated in a while (considering my record), but a lot of things have happened. One of them which was the launch of Human Nature's new line of lipsticks ComPassion. For a certain period of time, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these new items will go to a passion fruit farm in Catigan, Davao. Now that's REAL social advocacy. Belle was the one who invited me-- God bless her-- to the event which was held at the Society Lounge. Nice place. We were able to try out some of the products and a short talk about Gawad Kalinga and Human Nature ensued.
In other news, one of our new helpers, who has not even been with us for a month, turned out to be a thief. She was a rather quick worker, having stolen more than a few items worth a lot of money. She's in jail right now but this just proves that you can't always trust the people you hire to have a sense of loyalty and integrity.
