Friday this week, I get to see Faith No More live. There aren't really words to encompass how excited I am about this, but ( apparently I'm going to try anyway )
I should maybe have specified (and now have) that that Ashes-to-Ashes summer was 1997. I'm so old. *G* And they're pretty old-skool. I honestly don't know how to describe or start comparing their sound, and they have some variation between albums, but the things Mike Patton can do with his voice give me the shivers. Stake 'em out, see what you think. I love Gentle Art of Making Enemies, and Ashes to Ashes (obviously), and Ricochet, and The Real Thing, and... I have to forcibly stop myself now. *G*
Snap, minus the Hanson. *G* It's truly hard to beat Nirvana on the "well shit, that's really never going to happen" front. (Though for a while there, when every band and their mother was reuniting for Coachella a few years back, I was expecting any day to hear that Jeff Buckley was playing...)
Ahahah Ashes to Ashes. I had such a maaaaaaaaad crush of Mike Patton because of that vid. Oh Faith No More, you always creeped me out with the dying fish in the Epic clip.
I am still upset that I didn't get to see them EVEN THOUGH I WAS AT THE CONCERT THEY WERE OPENING because the guy I was with wanted to drink beer in the parking lot and I didn't want to make a fuss. So we sat in the parking lot while they played, and then went inside the stadium to see Metallica and Guns N'Roses (who only played, like, three songs and then walked off the stage). That was in, uh, 1993?
