Art:
The Definition of Light on Water, HP; a beautiful, fluid, evocative picture of Lily by
anemonesque.
"
time for decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse" by
starvinbohemian, HP; Pansy/Draco in a petty, vicious future where they're getting divorced, but not nearly ready to let it all go yet. Tangled, messy, jagged and satisfyingly real. It has its crazy angstcore moments, but the sex is something beautiful and bastardly, and it stuck with me for quite a while after I read it the first time.
"
the way that light attaches to a girl" by
circe_tigana, HP; Slytherin crack the way only Circe can deliver.
"
Mariner" by
iseult_variante, PotC/SPN crossover; Norrington is a hunter who frequents Ellen's diner. I'm very taken with how very, very Norrington this is. Utterly splendid. (Thanks to
mcee for pointing the way.)
"
Lost in Space" by
nutkin, Firefly; a sharper, more angry shade of Simon than is usually considered normal, but I love the feel of this. It really rings true for Simon for me; an educated, jaded, cosmopolitan man who simply must have the bitter inside as well as the sweet. The layers of things he doesn't say out loud, just thinks really hard in his blacker moments.
"
The Patron Saint of Beat" by sidewalk serfer girl, Cowboy Bebop; Spike/Faye with liquor and guns and a lot of yelling, which is about how it should be done. It's slightly overangsted, and a little incoherent, and the advent of lyrics in the middle of fics annoys me, but it's got bite and style and good voices for the chars.
