So, I finally saw Alexander last night; thank goodness it was five buck Tuesday.Dear Oliver Stone,

WTF??

Sincerely,
- Dee

In other, more fulfilling news, this was gacked from various folks:

1. The character you first fell in love with:

I honestly don't know. Harry, I guess. I first fell in love with the story. With the telling and the fun and the sense of wonder. I was a fan for years before I was a fangirl. But when I did fall, it was because uk_calico showed me a vid of Harry to "Lose Yourself" and it was realllly good.

On the other hand, also involved was watching the movies, and the one who jumped out and grabbed me by the sniggering delight in the movies was Draco. Because I'd heard tell that they'd done brilliantly casting the Trio, and then when I sat down and watched it I thought, "How did the tellers miss Draco? He's perfect! Such a perfect little blond SNOT." And that was the start of my Draco love.

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now:

Draco, I guess (see above). Ginny too, because in the earlier books I totally didn't get that she was going to become as cool as she has. *g*

3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:

Ron. Nah, look, he's darling, he's necessary, he fills an important gap. I just don't feel the firey passion. Sorry. Also, Neville. WTF? I don't get it at all. Waste. of. space. (Also, Luna. Who the fuck is she and how does she suddenly show up and become a core part of the Scooby Gang? This is an addendum and bracketed because not everyone loves her, but she does seem to have a fanclub out there, and I don't get it. Vague biddy. I just want to ping peanuts off her forehead.)

4. The character you love that everyone else hates:

Ain't no such thing, right? I are so mainstream. (I really like Dumbledore a lot. Maybe that's not so common. I get picky about his movie depiction; it's never been quite the right blend of vagary and competence.)

5. The character you used to love but don't any longer:

Erm... Harry, perhaps. It's no longer love. It's fascination and respect for JKR and interest to see what she does with him next, and I think it's a good thing that I no longer love him. He's become a character who is too real in his flaws and his shaping for me to love without reserve, and that's a sign of fabulous story-telling on JKR's part.

In other, other news, I get to meet stephiepenguin today and you don't. Well, you do if you're sophrosyne31.
