Hi fellow festividder!
I’m so glad you signed up, and I hope you find something in my prompts to have fun with. I love all sorts of vids, so the number one thing I want to say to you is: please make something that you’re passionate about, because that’s pretty much guaranteed to mean I’ll love it too.
My favourite kinds of vids include: fast-paced vids, experimental or weird vids, constructed reality or AU vids, and ironic vids. I'm particularly fond of constructed reality and AU vids, so if you want to include some additional outside source material, that works for me. Basically, if you have an off-the-wall idea, I'm the one to vid it for. :)
I’m not great at suggesting music, but have fairly broad tastes. I like everything from music without lyrics, mash-ups and remixes, all different eras, and fast-paced music.
A pet peeve: I don't like sound-bites from the source text over the top of lyrics -- I can't understand either when that's done. But sampling is fine when it's not over lyrics, so if that's your thing have some fun with it.

The Sapphires (2012) [Movie]
This is such a great film, and the women are such a delight. I'd love any kind of vid from it, from character study to dancing, to the war. Music: something era appropriate, or even better, a clever remix or cover.
Ben Hur (1959) [Movie]
If you vid this, pretty please focus on the movie's spectacle. That's what makes this film interesting for me, and I'd love to see that drawn together into a real eye-popper of a vid.
Persuasion (1995) [Movie]
I love Anne. She's such a delight. So if you make a vid about her, I'll be happy. That said, a source like this is begging for something a bit off the wall and unusual, so if that kind of thing is your kind of deal, go crazy. I guarantee I'll be thrilled with the result.
Last of the Mohicans [Movie]
The amazing physicality, the love story, and the soundtrack. They are what I think of when I think of this film. So an action vid, or one focusing on passion - either or both would please me very much. But the one trick with this source is that the original score is one of the best ever composed for any movie ever, so you need to pick a real head-kick of a track when it comes to music for this. Nothing else will do.
Jupiter Ascending (2015) [Movie]
Something sumptuous and gorgeous. If you want to go for humour as well, I'd be fine with that. :)
RPF - Black Lives Matter movement [Other]
I don't actually have any particular vision for this, but it's the kind of thing that could make a stunning and satisfyingly political vid if you do. So if this is your passion and you have something to say about it, I invite you to go with your passion and make the vid of your dreams. The only thing I'd suggest is that if you could spend at least part of the vid on people of colour outside of the US, especially Aboriginal Australians, Torres Strait Islanders, and Pacific Islanders, it would make me super happy. Music: Maybe something like Yothu Yindi's 'Treaty'.

I have no idea how you'd vid this. Maybe juxtapose the comic with the stuff it's riffing off or commenting on (using additional visual sources)? Or animating the stick figure and having it walk from comic frame to comic frame? Or getting your cat to wear a hat and act out the scenes? Or something super postmodern? I have no idea, but if you do, I'd absolutely love to see it!
