Let's play a game! Fic up for grabs!

Okay, I need to have some fun. I keep staring at my marking, staring at my endless, endless WiPs, staring at the emails I need to answer, and staring at the interesting comments I haven't replied to on all the meta I posted this week (I don't even know how many at this point -- the little comment number thingies on the posts combine to something ( Read more... )

Pirate? We're on a pirate kick around here (leftover Talk Like a Pirate Day, no doubt), and SGA piracy sounds like fun:-)

Jeannie saves herself, of course, and Rodney gets taken for his brainz. Then John has to swordfight in the rigging to get him back from Kolya. :) I think I may write that scene later.

John squints up into the sun, spotting Kolya's black shape standing in the crow's nest, Rodney next to him, looking cowed and bruised ( ... )

re·gen·cy
--the office, jurisdiction, or control of a regent or body of regents exercising the ruling power during the minority, absence, or disability of a sovereign. When the wormhole engages unexpectedly, John has no idea what's coming. He dashes into the gateroom in his sweats, breathing hard from his morning run with Ronon, and finds out from Chuck that O'Neill's on the line ( ... )

I'm so bad at following the rules of my own challenges. I can't help it. There are some AU ideas that just have to be done in canon-verse. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! :)

LOVE. Of course the only thing that would make John give up Atlantis is the demand of prior responsibilities like family.

Okay, look, I know what you're asking for here, but I keep wanting to write them into the nursuery rhyme Old McDonald Had a Farm...

eeee-iiii-eeee-iiii"Oh, that is just..." Rodney muttered, as he tried to scrape the cow shit from his shoes. The ambulance had finally made its cautious way to the end of the lane, and it's siren cut off as it no longer needed to move curious cows from its path ( ... )

You have a bizarre and twisty mind. I like that in a person.

Dragon AU! Extra points if Ronon's dragon is unimaginably lame and makes him sad on a daily basis, just because I crave the novelty of Ronon having something that isn't awesome (except for, you know, his life), but no grudges held is you can't conceive of a universe where that would happen. I'm not 100% sure I can either.

Rodney had always wanted a smart human as his rider. Someone who would appreciate spending long hours pouring over dusty scrolls, trying to glean the secrets of the Ancients ( ... )

Okay, so I know that many people have already won the internet, and its market value can't be that high by this point. I know you win something for this, though, even if I can't quite figure out what. (Your own ZPM? Your own prone-to-panic-attacks-in-midair dragon? Your own Satedan warrior, wig included? Something.)

In other words: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. (Which is what I said after the first sentence, except that version was squeakier.) Excellent use of the prompt! Of course, now I'm imagining Teyla and her dragon John, who she's awfuly fond of but does make her sigh a lot (on the inside, at least), and the mostly-friendly competition they develop with Ronon and Rodney, in which Ronon feels very acutely the unfairness of the fact that Rodney won't agree to carry a nuclear bomb with a ticking timer over the enemy lines.

What is the reason? It can't be the crack habit, as that is a requirement. :)
