You included the "Absolutely Cuckoo" video that has taken over my brain! Seriously, since I downloaded that song I sing it in my head every other day. And have to keep watching it. It's like KFC addictive! Sorry, I just had to cheer for this vid. I will come back and give links to vids and stories shortly (even though I am quite tall)... ;)

It is adorable, isn't it. It's an earworm I don't mind having at all :)

Can't wait to read your list!

Out of curiousity I followed the links to the Battlestar Galactica 78 stories and I really enjoyed them. Thanks for the rec! I had actually never read any BG78 fanfic before, although I was a huge fan when it aired.

I'm glad you enjoyed them! I recced a whole heap of my favourite BSG78 fics on crack_van a while back. You can find them here: http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=crack_van&keyword=Battlestar+Galactica+1978+Fanfic+Recs&filter=all

Enjoy. :)

Hmm. This is a difficult question, and at first I thought I wouldn’t have anything -- I don’t really reread stories. Or so I thought. Here are a couple of stories that mean a lot to me and that I’ve read and reread for months (or more):

A HP Harry/Draco WIP The Shadow of His Wings by Mirabella

A RPS Eminem/Taylor Hanson WIP Embers by ahestele

Rereading mostly because they are WIPs -- I’ve needed to refresh my memory with new instalments, and the fact that I don’t know how they end has grabbed me. They’re fascinating otherwise, too. Lots to think about.

Other stories (all SGA, McKay/Sheppard) that I’ve read again and again are, perhaps paradoxically, short: especially Resonant’s stories (Reality, Experience) and Shalott’s fics (especially Loves Me Not) fascinate me endlessly. Oh, and 30toseoul’s ( Science Discipline). And your Windfall.

To take on a desert island with me I’d probably pick also American Football (Lotrips, Sean Astin/Elijah Wood, complete though long). It’s such a great fic -- I read it when it was a WIP and when my OTP was Dom/Billy ( ... )

Mmmm. Recs. I haven't read American Football, but I remember hearing about it. It'll be interesting to read it now, because a favourite Lotrips fic was deleerium's Football (EW/OB).

I've read and enjoyed all the SGA stories you mention, and I may venture into the WIPs at some point (I'm following a few already at the moment, so I'm a bit leary of being sucked into more :)

Most of the stories I picked are long, plotty ones, just because there's often a section that I'm happy to read, no matter what I feel like. Even though I love short stories a lot, I really wouldn't pick them if they were all I had to read for an extended period of time--there wouldn't be enough time between reads to forget bits and get that frisson of renewed pleasure.
