Talk about a total waste of time yesterday. My dad was right yet again, he said that dr cohen didn't seem like that good of a doc but I liked him not now. First off you should read the chart before going in the room, my other docs don't need to cuz they're cool like that. Anyways I saw him when the hot water heater broke (that was a nighmare) and I told him I went to UCLA and all that so the first question was what did UCLA have to say? d'OH
That jsut set the tone and it just got worse as the apt went on, he kept trying to tell me to take the plaquinil and was trying to tell me that my eye doc was wrong and that I can take more wihtout side effect risk cuz he's never seen any eye problems, well one of the first major side effects, central vision loss, leltsl think about this if righft now I only have central vision well if i lose central vision ummm I wouldn't be able to see to well moron.
Then came the roids, he was like we need to get u off them, well 1. I'm on them for life cuz of my adrenals 2. they have another point besides just helping the auto immune stuff I do have lung problems as well.
Then we told him about the swelling and he could feel a faint pulse in my left foot and it was strong in the right but we already knew that. We brought up my low albumin, raised protein and low calcium. well apparenlty low albumin can cause swelling, he siad it has to be in the 2s which mine wasn't to see any problem from it but like my dad tried to tell him, maybe my body responds different than a normal healthy body would but dr Cohen just wouldn't even consider thaht. He tried to tell me that my low albumin was from a GI problem and I should go get a GI to check me out and he would reffer me to one if i wanted. At that point I was like u have to be kding me, my dad was like she eats better than i do most of the time, its not a GI problem and she already sees a GI for her GP, you should klnow that (of course if he read the chart or had half a brain)
I also told him about what Dr Reddy and us spoke about with regards to the IVIG not really helping many autoimmune pts cuz you need to supress your immune system ie pred, the chemo drugs all that fun stuff. So he was like well u need to goto ucla and see pulmonary down there, we told him that 1. they can't really do shit for me 2. the letter from the asshole Dr B neuro night mare thats right when my chart is opened 3. even dr gorn said that there would be a personality conflict, and I already did tha with dr barbers in teh end no thanks no more of that. But I swas like well why do i even need to see pulmnary and he waslike well lung infection if we put you on other meds. well to me I would think dr dutta could handle that since he is the one doing my IVIG and he's an infectious disease doc hello moron.
So ya, talk about a waste of my time and tax payers money, i am not going back to him ever again
