I dont even know how to begin to even thank Glen.
I dont think that he realizes how much of an impact he ahs made on my life. I know that being sick has totally changed the person I am, yes so cliche but seriously, in high school i was so soft spoken and teh one that was never speaking up, i would hide so i wouldn't have to talk in class and i would never think of saying half the crap i say now to people.
I dont even really know how I got to talking with Glen about the hockey thing, i know it was when we were talking about my wheelchair but i made some smart ass remark and he told me to get ahold of him later in the year to see if he could give me some hockey tix. Well IL had thought about emailing him or not and then finally one night i said fuck it, i'm gunna just try whats the worst he can do just not respond to me. I also got some of that courage from Olivia so thanks flat lander.
So Glen came through and got me the tix which was amazing and thank you Glen, but he even went a step further. I had talked to him and asked if he knwew anyone that may be able to help me riase awareness for somethign i deal with (at the time i had no clue what to do, i thought i had somethign but then there was some major drama and my path totally changed) so I'm at the hockey game and this guy in a suit comes up to me, and started talking with me and I will tell you my heart was racing and I was speechless...yes me speechless, hard to imagine now, but it was true jsut like in high school. I thought about it for a second and was like dumbass this is what you want ask for help so i did and I"m happy i did, Erik was amazing and I love the puck he gave me.
Since that night my life has changed more than I could have ever imagined. I was able to goto another hockey game and hopefully there will be many more especially sicne I am goign to be working with them at least once for organ donation awareness which is somethign dear to me,. Yes I need lungs, but I am to sick to get them due to my other health problems, I would also like to raise smoking awareness and get smoking outlawed in ALL public places so we shall see, that's a little ambitious but hey all I have to do is look at what Eva did, she proves if you put in the time and effort the results will come, it may take some time but she is coinitnung to change people's lives even in her passing which I can onlhy hope to do the same when my time comes.
I have become friends with Erik and Glen as well, i never thoguht that I would ever have friends like this but I am so happy and lucky to have them in my life so Glen thank you for the tix and Erik thank you as well, Joyce as well for teh room.
I just can't wait to get to work with Eirk and all of the people at the reign to help me reach my dream goal, thank yhou all...wow that sounded like an awared speech but it's very hearrt felt so thank you all
