Hello

Hello, people of the internet! I suppose a brief introduction is in order.

My name is Charlotte Charles, but you can call me Chuck. That's what everyone called my dad, Charles Charles. I loved him very much. I never knew my mother, so when my father passed away I went to live with my aunts, Vivian and Lily. They're quite eccentric, but very nicely so. They used to be part of a water dance spectacle. You might have heard of them; they were called the Darling Mermaid Darlings.

If you haven't heard of them, I wouldn't be surprised. They're become reclusive as of late, partially due to the loss of my aunt Lily's eye in an unfortunate cat litter incident.

Anyway, I loved living with them as a child. We had such fun, although I did miss my best friend, Ned. His mother died the same day my father did and he was shipped off to boarding school. But I'll get to him later, okay? Soon, I grew lonely in my aunt's big house with only Lily, Vivian, and the occasional homeless person to keep me company. I ran a charity called Honey for the Homeless. I'm kind of a beekeeper extraordinaire.  But it wasn't enough. I longed to see the world, to discover the interesting places I had read so much about...and to maybe even fall in love. Lily and Vivian scared off all the boys I liked as a teen with a rifle.

I boarded a cruise to a tropical island, but was murdered en route because of a mysterious suitcase given to me by my travel agent.

I know this all sounds very confusing. You're probably wondering, "If she was killed, why is she here writing this now?"

Well, people of the internet, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. You remember my childhood friend, Ned? He touched my cheek and brought me back to life! I mean that quite literally. Ned can touch dead things and bring them back to life. If he touches them again, they go back to being dead...forever. And if he leaves a dead thing alive for more than one minute, than someone else has to die in their place. Sadly, a corrupt funeral director took my place. But I don't really like to talk about that.

So, you see my dilemma? I'm living with Ned and his dog, Digby, now, but we can't touch. Ever. I'm completely in love with him, and I know he feels the same way. He's just so cautious and tightly wound. He doesn't like to take risks.

It amazes me, how quickly I fell in love with him after all that time apart. Granted, he was my first kiss...but I digress. The point is, maybe since I fell in love with him so fast, I call fall out of love with him just as fast.

I know.

It sounds terrible.

But what's an alive-again girl to do? That's where you come in, people of the internet. I figured it would be easier if I started falling for someone else entirely. Ned's very protective of me, but with the internet, I could meet nice men without him...hovering.

It could work. Maybe.

The entry is growing dreadfully long, so I'll let you go. Thanks for listening!

Chuck
