I have made this before, but it is so good that I wanted to share it with you. I did pork because I feel that I have been cooking chicken a lot lately. To me, the combination of these ingredients seem strange. It seems that they wouldn't go. If you like fruit with meat then you should like this dish.
Recipe:
3 lbs chicken or pork (I just did a 4 pack of pork because I am only cooking for two)
1 16oz can whole berry cranberry sauce (I use Ocean Spray)
1/2 cup french dressing (I use Light Creamy Reduced Fat French by Kraft)
1/2 a pack of dry onion soup mix (Liptons or Grocery Brand)
Combine all ingredients except meat in saucepan, heat and stir. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Place chicken or pork in 13x9 pan or smaller if you are using less meat, you will just have more sauce. I actually like to pour a little bit of the sauce over a baked potato.
Baked uncovered for 20-30 mintues. No need to grease pan. Feel free to baste as it cooks.
I made this dish with a side of baked potato, cinnamon applesauce, steamed green beans for me, and a salad for Steve.
It is very quick and easy especially if you tend to work late like me!
Steve said he cannot rate this since I have made it before and he will only rate new foods. He finally caved and said 4 out of 5.
