Arent you just fed up with comecials making you feel like your period is shameful and should be an embarresing time that must be hidden? Have you ever thought that, your period is actually a beautiful thing you should be proud of? well if you havent you really should think about it.
I think of my period as a wonderful reminder that i have the ability to bring life into the world (if i choose to). My period reminds me of the awesome power a woman has. But then when i see adds on tv showing women trying to hide their periods because society shuns a girl proud to bleed. and i think... this is bullshit.
In 1937, Tampax inc. referred to women's menstartion as her "troublesome days" and so began the legacy of shame. Tampon companies manipulated women into buying their products by reminding consumers that menstartion was bad. That it was a naughty reminder of sexuality and had to be hidden. Kotex even marketed a tampon called "fibs" in the 1930s.
and this didnt just go on back in the day it is still a problem that corrupts our televisions, magazines, and billboards... dont belive me? what is the latest thing tampon companies have come up with? "Snap out tampons that fit in the palm of your hand" and when they advertised this what did they show the girl who needed to use one doing... she was reaching into her bag to get something... but since it fit in her hand no one knew what she was getting... sigh..
Aside from the comercial's that make you feel shamful tampons and pads also contain alot of dioxin. Dioxin is the second most lethal chemical to a human. The FDA knows of the dangers of dioxins and in the FDA's final report they stated "it appears most risks may occur in tampons" . Ladies your cunt's are the most sensitive and absorbent parts on your bodies. so when you insert a tampon into your body your are absorbing dioxins. 38 women in 1980 along died due to toxic shock syndrome caused by... all together now... tampons!
Dioxin contains: Clorine bleach and organchitce (whose family member is agent orange).
Did you know that the average women will use 11,400 tampons in her life time. Thats 11,400 times that you are putting your bodies at risk... and why? so that you can try to hide the fact that you bleed out your cunt?
