I will become homicidal if something does not change. Peter Singer, author of "Animal Liberation", certainly had one thing right that cannot be debated: Weak, useless, ineffective humans should not be allowed to live. I don't think you should kill your baby up to 28 days after birth if testing shows mental retardation... but humans who don't want ( Read more... )

It's really hard to get a european work visa. In Italy, at least, you have to be able to perform jobs that actual Italian residents CAN'T do. I don't know if that goes for France...and if you plan on going over there to stay, you have to be able to prove that you have the funds to live there for that amount of time without getting a job. It's really annoying. I've looked into it myself because I want to do the same thing. I've even considered giving up my US citizenship but who knows what I'll end up doing.

Hmm that's really interesting, thank you for bringing that to my attention. I of course know it's a bad idea to just sporadically abandon ship here haha. I think it'd be nice to leave all of the ridiculousness of American culture and disappear. And write. How typical, right? Tonsssssss of people apply for US Citizenship every day, I wish there was like a waiting list and you could just trade places with people. Haha that's certainly one of those things that sound good in theory, but if put into action would be awful. Like communism .. sort of ; p

haha. I wish we could trade places. I'd be in italy tomorrow. I don't understand why it's so easy to get US citizenship but so hard to get a european one. It's like they want to keep us out. I completely agree with you about the leaving the american culture behind. I hate it. I'd love to lose myself in europe and write as well. It would be amazing.

have you considered going on a trip to europe? maybe just for two weeks or something? I'm looking for someone to go with, if you're interested.

As for abandoning ship...this one's pretty much sinking. I'm hoping our economy will pick up soon.

Ahh I'd definitely be down for a Europe trip with you. I of course need to somehow find funds, and get a passport and everything, but really, if you plan a trip, I'm game. I'm hoping I can find an attractive European man who only knows the word "yes" in English to fall in love with me/shower me with gifts/demand that I stay in his country and allow him to worship me. HAHA WISHFUL THINKING.

wow. yeah, I'll definitely plan the trip. I have a friend who does two weeks on under $2000 or something like that. I could talk to him and get the details worked out. Plus, I've been planning on taking this trip since my junior year, but something always came up with the friends I was talking to about it. I was going to go with megan, then she got into that bind and had to move. I was going to go with this guy, then, he told me he liked me and I turned him down and he stopped talking to me...what a mess.

You know, if you marry into a European family, you don't have to worry about all the hassles that come with getting a visa. :P But, don't we all wish for an attractive european man. Today in Journalism class, we were talking about germany and this one girl kept commenting on how hot the guys are over there. haha.
