Post-wedding India post

Posting this from an internet cafe down the road from the hotel we checked into today, in southern Mumbai.

Prior to this, Hespa and I were staying at the Sahara Star hotel, which is wonderfully fancy and was the venue for the wedding we were attending. The bride's family was paying the cost of the wedding, which included accommodation at the hotel for many of the out-of-town guests (including us). Now that we're on our own, we've moved to a hotel more within reach of our budget.

The wedding itself, was spread over 3 days. We were only able to be here for the last 2, but that seemed to cover the most important stuff. It was incredible. I'm not really going to attempt to describe it here, since I need more time to do it justice. Hespa brought her camera and has taken lots of photos, so we'll have to do a write-up of our experiences with accompanying photos at some point soon after we get back.

We spent a lot of time enjoying the company of some of k2's friends, who turned out to be rather awesome. k2 himself was mostly busy with other duties, obviously, not to mention the 1500 odd guests who were attending the wedding! (k2 is the nickname of our friend who was getting married; I wasn't very familiar with his real name until the wedding, but his friends and family here seemed to call him k2 a lot of the time too, so it wasn't much of an issue).

Hespa and I have another week before we return to Australia. 2 more days in Mumbai, then a couple of days in Goa, and a couple of days in Lonavala before coming back to Mumbai for our flight back.
