So I'll Climb On Top....
Been a little while. How are things?
I'm going to Houston tonight to see Ian Moore play. I'm quite bummed because everybody, even my own mother, has flaked out on me. Oh well. I definately plan on going to this used book store there and buying a ton of books and vinyl. Should be a good time.
I think I may have had my first groupie last saturday. Perhaps my first two! The Anteeks were playing at some hole in the wall in Maurepas called Weedy's. There's this one girl who follows The Anteeks around, and she has these huge fake tits and is alright to be around, but isn't that attractive, physically or personality wise. She was hitting on me the whole god damned night. It was weird.
Then, there was this other chick. Towards the end of the set, when everybody is nice and drunk, I go up and I sing "Just Like Heaven." Well, there was this chick at the front of the stage, and she was singing along and we had some standard band-member/audience-member interaction, I didn't think anything of it. After we were done and we were packing up, one of the bartenders came up to me and said "Hey. I think my friend digs you." Unfortunately, the girl had already left by the time her friend came up to talk to me, and then the friend left before I could get the chicks name or phone number or anything! So, another failed opportunity.
I've been getting into some electronic music lately. Blaqk Audio was what really made me take notice, then I got The Postal Service record, and I spent a great deal of time last night downloading some VNV Nation and Godspeed You Black Emperor! I've also been messing around with some synthesizers and programming. I've got one song just about finished. It's just missing a few little touches and some lyrics. Then I'm going to start up a MySpace called "Panic Attack!" Be on the lookout...
So...Ian Moore this weekend...Interpol AND Sparta in September...Junius AND The Cure in October...Brand New WITH Thrice AND The Electric Six in November...Plus new dashboard and thrice albums in october...plus playing shows just about every weekend...plus practice and stuff with my other band...I have a very busy schedule ahead of me...
