I've been looking for hours for some information and I finally got what I wanted! What I would like to go into is called Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education. Which is the politically correct way of saying it. They don't use "hearing impared" anymore. So what I'm going to do is go ahead and take my basics and then go wherever I need to after that to finish college. I e-mailed two professors and one e-mailed me back and he forwarded my e-mail to a d/hh techer. She was very excited that I wanted to teach deaf kids and let me know how happy she was in her field of 8 years. She was very supportive and helpful of my needs. I really think this is something that I would want to do. I looked in the phone book and I found a place called "The learning Tree" and I believe it's an elementry school. I'm going to call them one day and see what they do there and if they have deaf kids there I would like to see if they would let me come to visit. I think also that it would be a neat thing to be an interpreter because sign language is about the only other language I would be willing to learn. It's interesting to me and it's something I would love to do. I could teach the kids art and whatever... Just have fun. It's going to be great.
