Just introducing myself.
I'm Bo. My mother owned most of Tom Robbins' books, and I read them at too young an age (some would say) during my attempts to read everything in the house that could be read. I got hooked after reading 'Another Roadside Attraction', and I've been a fan ever since.
I recently got to meet Mr. Robbins when he did a book reading/signing for 'Wild Ducks Flying Backwards' at the Booksmith in San Francisco. It was fantastic. He sucked on a lemon wedge during the talk, and afterwards I told him about my early exposure to his books. He smirked and said, "Did a little brian damage, did we?", and I left feeling quite happy that he understood his influence on my life.
I recommend Robbins' books to nearly everyone who asks what I think they should read. Mostly, I recommened 'Jitterbug Perfume', because to me that seems like a good starting place. I mostly arrived at that choice at random.
That's all. Hello.
