Watching Johnny Staccato recently whetted my appetite for more late 50s TV private eye series. A year before Johnny Staccato NBC had started airing Peter Gunn, a series that enjoyed much greater success.

I used to stay up late when I was a kid to watch this. But here's the odd thing - I cannot remember any part of any episodes other than the opening and closing credits! I saw the telemovie of this they made some years later and didn't recognise anything!

"Sophisticated Hipster"? The Baron would take him out in a battle!
