All Fall Down & Pointless Remakes
I was just watching the stage version of Sweeney Todd on Youtube, and found this trailer (the connection is that Angela Lansbury is in both):
Click to viewI couldn't help think how tacky and dated the trailer was, but also loved its "everything must be explained" attitude to the audience.
On other news, I heard that The Rocky Horror Picture Show is going to be remade with new music. There's been rumours about this for a few years, but maybe this time it's true! I think the fans and the public would be heavily divided over such a production. Would it revive midnight viewings? Who knows.
However, one curious exercise is to cast people in the roles. Here's who I'd pick for a remake (speaking roles only):

Brad Majors: Jim Carey / Nicholas Brendon
Riff Raff: Johnny Depp / Jim Carey / James Marsters

Columbia: Eliza Dushku / Helena Bonham Carter
Dr. Everett Von Scott: Anthony Head / Patrick Stewart / John Lithgow
Rocky Horror: Adam Baldwin / Mark Lutz / Owen Wilson
Eddie: Jack Black / Guy Pearce / Ron Perlman
The Criminologist: Patrick Stewart / Stephen Fry
Ralph Hapschatt: Will Ferrell

Some explanation may be in order. There's a number actors from the Buffy/Angel TV series listed. This is because I've seen (most of them) sing and dance. Likewise Depp and Bonham Carter. The hardest role to cast isn't that of Frank-N-Furter, but of Columbia. Frank-N-Furter probably needs to be underplayed, whereas Brad is hammed up.
