The Cousins
we went to Michigan this weekend.
carolyn's summer odyssey in nyc ended with her arrival in cleveland at 5am saturday morning. she woke me by sweetly calling my name through the open bedroom window. welcome home.
we were on the road by noon making the drive to see the family in michigan. my mom's whole family was there. they are a wonderful bunch. warm and funny.
on sunday, my uncle had organized a party. their friends and neighbors came over and ate and drank. and then the performances began. everyone was invited to provide 3 minutes of entertainment by displaying whatever talents they had. there was singing, dancing and music playing. it was really good. some of it darn-near professional.
now, we have a year til the next party, and we'll by expected to perform. i guess i'll have to take up an instrument or something. maybe a puppet show.
