This is a stupid little update.
I just finished reading Orson Scott Card's
Ender's Game, a book I thought I read a long time ago but I now realized I never did. I liked it enough that I headed straight to the bookstore to get the sequel. Though I fear with most good books the next ones never live up to the original (the last series of books I tore through was Frederik Pohl's
Gateway series, all 5 of them).
To my Slovenian friends who read my LJ, I hope you are well. My studies of your language have slowed but I'm going to get back to it this fall. I found that the BBC has a Slovene-language broadcast that you can hear online, so I can tune into that and to the Narobov show via the internet. Much better for my studies than always hearing "Rockers Delight" on Radio Student. The sunny days of Seattle are near the end; I often go to the coffeehouse by the market for my bela kava sledom and sit outside, imagining I'm at BI-KO-FE waiting to meet you all. tvoja, Bry-chee (yes, like a little girl)
My dad is going to be on a radio show. As a pirate expert. I'm the coolest kid on the block right now.
Zanadu is such a great store. I can't say that enough.
Baseball is nearly over... I would be more sad but the
Serenity movie is getting me excited. I may even skip a few of my usual late season games and pick up a Blue Sun shirt to wear pre-release.
Today my idle thoughts were preoccupied with things I have lost. I'm trying to figure if something in Ender's Game stimulated that part of my brain. At the Renfest (16 years ago) I lost a green suede pouch that had all my tips in it... probably $100 or so. At the time I thought my juggling partner stole it to buy drugs but I later realized he probably didnt. I had a pizzicato 5 CD that I'm convinced is in the possession of
lindykerry.
Told you this update was stupid...
